Endodontics
Endodontics is the specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of internal tooth lesions. The main purpose of endodontic treatment is denervation.
Endodontic lesions
Due to lesions within the teeth are mainly due to caries or injuries of traumatic nature such as a fracture or orthodontic abnormalities.
The nail enamel and dentin are affected and the pulp begins to flare, causing problems in the extremity that lead to pain, swelling or even cysts.
Root canal
The purpose of each endodontic treatment and every root canal is to remove diseased or dead pulp and the deep occlusion of the root canal in order to minimize the pain of the patient, to keep the tooth in the mouth, while retaining its chewing function.
Endodontic treatment: Tooth decay & modern equipment
Thanks to the latest generation of modern equipment, digital technology and treatment methods we follow, we achieve fast, painless, safe and successful root canals. In each endodontic event:
- Digital radiography with excellent image quality is used to help diagnose and choose the most effective treatment.
- With the special endodontic motor, we open the tooth’s mill, the visible part of it, and we reach the inside of it.
- With the digital apex locator, we calculate the exact length of the tooth.
- The pulp is removed and the root canals are cleaned and properly formed.
- The root canal is decontaminated and the microbes are neutralized using the Tubular Laser.
- Using the digital system of root canal occlusion, the hermetic occlusion extending to the apex can be achieved.
- With an infusion of liquid machine, the final tooth occlusion and the completion of the treatment are performed.
How many visits are needed to complete an endodontic treatment – a root canal?
One to three visits are typically enough to correct most endodontic problems.
